Global Moving Experts has coordinated international relocations since 2003. Over that time, the core of the job hasn't changed: a household or a company needs its belongings moved from one country to another, reliably, with someone accountable for the whole route rather than just one leg of it. What has changed is the number of moving parts involved — more transport options, more varied customs regimes as regulations shift, and higher expectations for communication throughout a move that can take weeks from first assessment to final delivery.

We built our process around a single idea: the company you hire to plan your move should be the same company that stays responsible for it until your goods arrive. That's not how the international moving industry always works, and it's worth explaining why we do it differently.

What we do

We coordinate international moves from initial assessment through to delivery — recommending the right transport option for your route and volume, arranging packing and storage where needed, preparing customs documentation for routes that require it, and staying involved until your goods are delivered.

That covers a wide range of situations in practice. A young professional relocating for a new job might need a single container of belongings moved with a flexible delivery date. A family moving abroad permanently might need a full household packed, some items placed in storage while they finalise housing at the destination, and specific handling for items like pianos or artwork. A business relocating an employee needs the process to run on a schedule tied to a start date, often coordinated with an HR or mobility team rather than the employee directly. Each of these is a different job, but the underlying coordination — one point of contact, one plan, one party accountable for the outcome — is the same.

How we work

Our coordinators are your point of contact throughout — not a call centre that hands you between departments, and not a rotating cast of subcontractors each responsible for a different piece of your move. You get a single line of communication from the first conversation about your route and volume through to confirmation of delivery.

On the international legs of a move — sea freight in particular, and long-distance road transport — we work with vetted transport and logistics partners who specialise in those specific legs of the journey. That's normal and necessary in this industry: no single company owns every ship, container yard and long-haul fleet on every route worldwide. What matters is where responsibility sits. When you book with us, your coordinator remains responsible for your move end to end, including the legs handled by a partner. If something needs to be chased, chased down, or explained, that's our job, not something you're left to manage yourself between multiple providers.

We're not a marketplace or a comparison platform that connects you with a mover and then steps back. When you request a quote through this site, you're requesting a quote directly from the company that will plan and carry out your move.

Household and corporate relocations

We support both individual households moving abroad and businesses relocating employees internationally, and the two are handled with a similar structure but different emphasis. Household moves tend to focus on volume, timing around a lease or completion date, and decisions about what to pack, store or leave behind. Corporate relocations tend to focus on scheduling against a start date, coordination with an internal HR or mobility contact, and consistency when a company relocates more than one employee over time. Where we operate

We coordinate moves between countries across Europe, the Middle East, North America and Australia. Some routes — for example between EU member states — involve minimal customs formality and are largely a matter of transport logistics. Others, particularly moves to or from countries outside the EU, involve customs documentation, import regulations, and sometimes restrictions on specific goods that need to be planned for well before a move date. Part of our job is knowing which of these applies to your specific route and preparing for it accordingly, rather than treating every move the same way. Why coordination matters

Most of the problems people run into with an international move don't come from any single step going wrong — they come from the gaps between steps. Packing is scheduled without checking the transport company's collection window. A container gets booked before anyone confirms the destination country's import rules for certain items. A delivery date shifts and nobody tells the person waiting to move out of their old home. None of these are hard problems on their own; they're coordination problems, caused by too many separate parties each managing their own piece without a full view of the move.

That's the gap a single accountable coordinator is meant to close. It's also why we ask for your route, volume and timeline early, rather than only at the point of booking — the earlier we understand the shape of a move, the more of these gaps we can close before they become a problem you have to deal with mid-move.

What to expect when you work with us

The process starts with a route and volume assessment — where you're moving from, where you're moving to, roughly how much you're moving, and your target date. From there we recommend a transport option (groupage, dedicated transport, or container/sea freight for longer routes), scope out packing and any storage needs, and — for routes that require it — start preparing the customs documentation early enough that it doesn't become a bottleneck later.
